All is Merry, All is Bright!

Hello lovely people, are you ready for the holidays? I know I am! 2016 has been one crazy year (I have a feeling I say that for every year), and I am glad it is coming to an end. This year just disappeared in front of my eyes! Stay tuned for my year end post to find out exactly what I was up to in these past 12 months, and then we can mutually decide if it was just busy or productive. 😉 I am so happy for December – I feel like it is one of the best months of the year. Things get…

Sparkle #200: Colorful Buildings I Want To Visit

Color always makes me happy!  I go crazy with the camera when I spot a multicolored building during my travels. There are many wonderfully constructed, artistic, multi-hued buildings around the world – a testament to the amazing talent of creative artists everywhere. For today’s post, I thought I would share pictures of 30 odd colorful buildings which really caught my attention while browsing the web. You will be delighted and mesmerized by the gorgeous colors, beautiful designs and the interesting ideas which led to the creation of these masterpieces. Each building has a story behind how it came to be – some were built with the concept of color and art…

Sparkle #198: Fourth of July Sparkler Photography

The Fourth of July weekend is just round the corner, and if you have not planned a mini getaway, then chances are you are having a nice summer party at home! If you plan to spend your weekend chilling with family and friends, then it might be a good idea to look up game and food DIYs online. One super fun activity you can plan for the evening is “writing with sparklers”. Fireworks are a Fourth of July staple, and taking photographs when people are writing with sparklers is an engaging activity bound to interest both kids and adults. You have probably…

Sparkle #192: Incredible India!

India – the land of multiple sights, sounds and experiences. A country which belongs to both the rich and the poor, the old and the young alike. This is the same place where you will find something as enchanting as the Taj Mahal, and something as depressing as the polluted river Yamuna. People here can be extremely helpful and friendly, or they can be really good con artists who will not shy away from making an extra buck off a gullible tourist. Brimming with diverse but complementary cultures, India can be loud, exaggerated and overwhelming for anyone. But once you spend some time here, it becomes easy to spot a method to it’s madness,…

Sparkle #188: The Magical World of Rune Guneriussen

I recently stumbled upon the surreal art of artist Rune Guneriussen and can’t take my eyes off his dreamy installations. Rune uses everyday objects to create stories in the natural landscape of his hometown, Norway. These complex and time consuming installations are painstakingly created by hand, and the end result is installation art which looks like a magical painting. What I really like about his creations is the balance between real life and fantasy. The locations and structure of his installations has a mystical feel to them, making you escape into a fairy tale of your own. But the use of common objects immediately brings you back to reality. His…
