Which is why, I am delighted to have stumbled upon these amazing hot chocolate mix recipes. They sound way better than the store brought versions, are easy to whip up and can be made ahead to store and use during the cold winter months. Recipe #1: Double Cocoa Hot Chocolate Mix
Why I like this recipe: It is highly customizable! The author recommends a variety of toppings such as peanut butter chips, crushed candy cane, peppermint, cinnamon, cayenne or espresso which can add some zing to your hot chocolate. Or just use the basic recipe for a decadent dark chocolate kick.

Recipe #2: Layered hot chocolate mix
Why I like this recipe: The recipe is basic and the ingredients look wonderful all layered up – it’s almost like Christmas in a jar!
