LIVING

20 in 2020!

Unprecedented! The most apt word used to describe 2020. Also the most common word gracing year end reviews published around the world. Over this last month, I spent some time switching off from my daily routine to introspect and reflect on the year this has been, and the lessons I have learnt: the importance of family and nature, an attitude of gratitude for all my privileges, a study in resilience, the joy of embracing a slower albeit fuller life and going deep within to understand my true purpose. 2020, you might just have been a blessing in disguise! As 2021…

Oh, Hello Again!

Hello there, and I do hope you and your loved ones are safe and well! I know I have been MIA for many months now, but I am happy to announce that I am ready to get back to blogging, and this time I intend to be consistent. Sparkle #173: Travel Wishlist – India Edition

It is so much fun to create a travel wishlist for the year. Last year, Paris was right at the top of my list, and I was so thrilled when that trip actually happened! So there is definitely some merit in thinking about where you want to travel this year. If you have clear dreams and plans, the universe might just conspire to make it happen! This year, my travel wishlist is restricted to specific places in India. I am not planning any international trips by myself, but would be happy if life throws up any surprises in this department! I am trying to save for a backpacking trip across Europe in 2017, so…

Sparkle #151: Nature Travel Inspiration

Winters are the perfect time to escape into the wilderness. The dense air and dark pines add a mysterious charm to forests, thus making them even more inviting during the cold weather. Imagine cuddling up with a cup of hot cocoa and your favorite book under a giant oak tree on a winter day – sounds like utter bliss! Sadly, I am several miles away from a forest, so I can only dream about these lovely winter walks. If like me, you are looking for some nature themed travel inspiration, then follow “Wintergirl” on Tumblr. She posts some amazing travel shots of forests, mountains and nature on a regular…

Sparkle #5: Breathtaking Photography

Hello everybody. It’s Thursday today, and this week I thought of doing a photography based post. I recently discovered this photography website unsplash.com. The website offers 10 high-resolution photos every 10 days to use and share for free. Yes, you read that right – you can copy, modify and use these photos for commercial or personal purposes without asking for permission or providing attribution to the photographers. Now this is what I call truly free sparkle and cheer from the internet! Lots of thanks to the makers of Unsplash – I hope you keep sharing inspiration on the web through your wonderful site. It has millions…
