Christmas Tree for the Year 2015

2015 has been one crazy year! It has been full of both highs and lows, warm surprises, much awaited trips and some wonderful new beginnings. Of course, the most special thing about 2015 has been my blog – I am so glad I finally took out time to start this sparkly space. To celebrate all the madness which was 2015, I decided to decorate this year’s tree with a bunch of whimsical ornaments. Last year, I had a gold and white themed tree, but this year I wanted to use lots of curios to make a big, bright and multi colored tree. I also wanted to add one quirky element to the…

Missing in Action

Hello lovelies! I am not one to go MIA without dropping a note, so you must be wondering what happened and where are all the lovely sparkle posts I had promised for this week? Life is unpredictable, and sometimes you go through a phase where you experience highs and lows simultaneously. I am still going through all these options in my head and hope to finalize something soon! Meanwhile, here are some pictures of my Christmas tree decor from last year. I chose a gold and white theme and added a pop of red via the…

Rangoli Through The Years!

Every year, for the festival of Diwali, I decorate the front yard of our house with a big, multi colored Rangoli pattern. A Rangoli is usually made during Diwali or any other auspicious Indian festival as a welcoming area for the Gods. It is basically a colored pattern which is created on the floor using flowers, colored rice, colored sand or any other relevant material. A great way to keep traditions alive, a Rangoli adds a colorful touch to all the twinkling Diwali decorations. They are also expected to bring good luck and prosperity to the house. I have been making Rangolis for our Diwali decorations for the last 8…

Diwali: A Time for Lights, Color, Sparkle & New Beginnings!

Hello my lovelies, are you excited about November? This month has started on a high and festive note for those in India as people across the country get together to celebrate the biggest festival of the year – Diwali. Diwali, also known as the “festival of lights”, is one of the most awaited festivals in the country. It is also the most auspicious, as it marks the beginning of a new calendar year. There are several mythological tales associated with Diwali, but the most popular one centers around the mythical King Rama. It marks the return of King Rama after his victory over the evil king Ravana and to welcome him back…
