Sparkle #151: Nature Travel Inspiration

Winters are the perfect time to escape into the wilderness. The dense air and dark pines add a mysterious charm to forests, thus making them even more inviting during the cold weather. Imagine cuddling up with a cup of hot cocoa and your favorite book under a giant oak tree on a winter day – sounds like utter bliss! Sadly, I am several miles away from a forest, so I can only dream about these lovely winter walks. If like me, you are looking for some nature themed travel inspiration, then follow “Wintergirl” on Tumblr. She posts some amazing travel shots of forests, mountains and nature on a regular…

Sparkle #147: Swiss Alps in the Snow!

If you have been reading this space, you know we are celebrating winter season on the blog this week! Winter is a great time to take a break and switch off from the rigmarole of our daily lives. The weather and holiday season both persuade one to slow down and take some time off without feeling guilty. I know that a lot of people like to travel to warmer climates to escape the harsh weather, but I actually prefer going someplace even colder. I love winter and feel it’s one of the most magical times of the year, so I am not one to…

Sparkle #143: A Not So Scary Halloween Party

Love Halloween but don’t like to celebrate it the scary or spooky way? Then head over to Disney for Mickey’s ‘not-so-scary’ Halloween Party! Every year, the famous theme park in Florida, Orlando holds a Halloween festival during the months of September and October which includes special events, themed decor, fireworks, parades and plenty of fun opportunities to trick or treat! Anything associated with Disney can hardly be scary, and this event is no different. Since the theme park caters to family audiences, the Halloween events are more focused on fun and games and less inclined towards scary activities. The event is ticketed and…

Sparkle #139: Minimalist Travel Tattoos

I don’t think I will ever get a tattoo – it seems too permanent! What if I don’t like what I got a couple of years down the line? I also have super sensitive skin with a low pain threshold, so the idea of getting a tattoo is not too appealing. But whenever I come across an interesting tattoo on someone else, I do get swayed by the idea for a bit. Like when I saw these charming minimalist travel tattoos below, I wanted to get one for myself too! I particularly like #8 and #10, which one do you like best? (Image Credits: Image 1,…

Sparkle #135: Amazing Waffles at Virginia Beach

I have mentioned a couple of times how much I love fall and winter. I am also equally fond of spring! However, I don’t like the hot season much. But the one thing I do love about summer is the beach. If you have been reading my blog for a while you will know that I had a fabulous beach vacation at Virginia Beach in May this year. It was the perfect weekend getaway with my wonderful sister, brother in law and amazing niece. My super smart niece has her own blog and she even wrote a post about our trip here! I know I have promised you…
